On January 24, 2008, our family had to say goodbye to a very special person, our grandmother.  Big Grandma to some of us and Grandma Ada to others.  No matter which name we used, we all loved her very much and will miss her.  We are blessed though to know that she is in Heaven with our Lord.

 

 

     Ada Mae Stone Mohler Grimm was born August 12, 1928 south of Formoso , Kansas to Jennie Rebecka Dillon and William Edward Stone.  She was the youngest of eight children.  She passed from this life January 24, 2008 and the age of 79 years. 

     At the age of four years, her mother passed away leaving Ada with her father, four sisters, and a brother.  At the age of six her father passed away and Ada went to live with her sister Ruby and husband Lloyd Hayes.  They lived south of Formoso and Ada attended Chesboro School . 

     The next year the whole family moved out west to Washington state for several years where Ada attended school and joined the First Baptist Church in Buena , Washington . 

     At the age of sixteen she moved back to Formoso with her family where she attended school and church.  She later joined the Formoso Community Church where she took part in the activities and at different times taught the nursery and primary Sunday school classes. 

     She was married to Virgil Gale Mohler in April of 1946 and to this union they were blessed with four children;  Rebecca Jo, Michael Gale, Iris Mae, and Gloria Ann. 

     Ada devoted her time taking care of the children and taking them to school and church She also spent her time working in the garden, raising chickens and helping with other chores and some farm work.  She had several hobbies including sewing and crocheting, and she also enjoyed making cookies and doing other baking.  Ada had a love for poetry and shared it with all the family.  She worked at the Post Office as a clerk for thirteen years after the children were through school. 

     She enjoyed her grandchildren, and helped them when needed while they were growing up.  She extremely enjoyed her great grandchildren and was always ready to help them also. 

     Her husband Virgil passed away in March 1994 with cancer, and in 1999 she married Robert Grimm whom Virgil and her both had went to school with. 

     Ada was also preceded in death by her son Michael and daughter Iris Mae.  She leaves at her passing, her husband Robert, Formoso;  two daughters and their husbands:  Becky and Kenny Huber, and Gloria and Jerry Massey all of Formoso,  grandchildren Jerry Lee Huber and family, Formoso;  Judy Huber, Lee’s Summit, MO;  Janet and husband Dan Higer and family, Mankato;  Sheila and husband Lonnie Myers and family, Jewell;  Mike Mohler Jr, Formoso;  Kathy and husband John Sjolander and family, Delphos;  Abe and wife Karyn Mohler and family, Montrose;  Jerry Lynn and wife Candy Massey and family, Hardy;  and Gary and wife Crystal Massey and family, Phillipsburg:  a sister, Jennett Wildman, Grants Pass, Oregon;  lots of dear nieces and nephews and a host of friends. 

     Pall bearers are Edwin Hayes, Lonnie Myers, Dan Higer, John Sjolander, Terry Wiley, and Bret Engel.  Honorary Pall Bearers are Jerry Lee Huber, Gary Lee Massey, Jerry Lynn Massey, Mike Mohler Jr., and Abe Mohler.. 

     Services were held Monday, January 28, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Formoso Community Church .  Interment was at the Balch Cemetery .
