The
Buffalo Roam
One of more widely known restaurants in Kansas, "the Roam" attracts clientele from two states on a regular basis and repeat customers whenever they are in the area. The first Saturday night of the month is special, for that is seafood night. Be sure to get there early, however, for a crowd forms by 7:00 p.m. There are nightly specials and noon buffets. Bob's
Inn
An old hamburger joint with an eccentric flair located in downtown Mankato. If you enjoy greasy, old fashioned, grilled hamburgers with pickles and onions like you remember as a kid, this is the place. Cozys has nothing on Bob's. Potato chips come in a bag, along with a coke or a beer. There is room enough for approximately 5 people at the bar and another 12 or so in the booths. A must for people who enjoy talking about World War II, since the current proprietor is a WWII buff complete with VCR tapes playing on the TV.
